Assam recorded 6143 new COVID-19 positive cases and 89 more deaths in the last 24 hours.
Confirming the news, Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet on Wednesday evening said the new cases were confirmed out of 102040 tests conducted in the last 24 hours.
Chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the overall positivity percentage of the state stood at 6.02% on Wednesday.
Of the new cases, Kamrup Metro district alone reported 913 cases.
The state’s COVID-19 recovery rate was 85.97% on Wednesday.
