Guwahati: A man has been accused of sexually abusing his 17-year-old minor niece in Baksa, Assam.
As per reports, the accused has been identified as Laxmikant Das, 60, a resident of Simla in Baksa.
The minor is reportedly now pregnant.
It has been alleged that the uncle had been abusing her sexually for a long time and it was only revealed after the family found that she was pregnant.
The minor’s mother has filed an FIR against Das for allegedly abusing her sexually.
A case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act) has been registered and Das was arrested from Badulipara in Baksa.
An investigation is being carried out further.
