A total of 20 people, including a pregnant, were injured on Wednesday as a Tata pick-up van, which was used as a passenger vehicle, turned turtle at Mukendur area in Assamโ€™s West Karbi Anglong district.

Sources said, โ€œThe road mishap took place at Mukendur when a Tata pick-up van, overloaded with passengers, suddenly turned turtle on the road after losing control.โ€

The registration number of the pick-up van, which met with the accident, is AS-02 AC-6664.

โ€œOut of the 20 injured people, who were onboard the vehicle, the condition of 11 people including a pregnant woman is serious,โ€ sources said.

The injured were admitted to the Kheroni Model Hospital.

โ€œDue to the poor road condition, the villagers from the remote areas have to use pick-up vans and trucks as passenger vehicles,โ€ the local added.
