All the 10 Gana Suraksha Mancha (GSP) leaders were official candidates of GSP, who contested the last BTC elections but failed to win the poll battle.

The GSP leaders, who joined the UPPL, include Dhajendra Rabha (contested from Soraibil), Pankaj Das (Jomduar), Ranendra Koch (Kachugaon), Thaneswar Rabha (Baokhunguri), Sajoy Sarania (Salakati), Hafizur Rahman (Srirampur), Mafidul Ahmed (Guma), Arun Boro (Khoirabari), Daniel Mardi (Nagrijuli) and Robin Murmu (Panchnoi Serfang).

Attending the joining programme, Pramod Boro also said, “The 10 GSP members, who have joined the UPPL today, had contested the last BTC elections on GSP ticket.”

He said the GSP fought the election for a change in the BTC as the UPPL did and their fight for the change has not been fulfilled.

Since both the UPPL and GSP fought for the same cause, they have come forward to work together with the UPPL, said Boro adding that they would jointly defeat corruption and mismanagement in the BTC.

Boro said the new coalition government in BTC will establish a clean and transparent government so that the people of all sections can enjoy the rights and privileges of the government.

He said the decision of 10 GSP members to join the UPPL was right and timely decision and they will ensure equal development to all.

On the preparations for the Assembly election to be held this year, Boro said there is nothing much to do for the UPPL as the results in Udalguri and Baksa have shown the trend of the party.
