A youth was killed and three injured during a road accident at Suklai in Assam’s Udalguri district on Sunday evening.

The victim, Sanjay Rabha was travelling on his two-wheeler along the Udalguri-Tamulpur road in Suklai when the accident occurred.

The incident took place when the 25-year-old lost control of his vehicle and hit a cyclist on the road.

Rabha died on the spot.

Gautam Deka and Nripen Das, who were riding pillion on Rabha’s motorcycle also sustained injuries along with the unidentified cyclist.

The police rushed to the spot after being informed of the incident.

All the injured were later rushed to community health centre in Tangla.

“It seems to be case of driving under the influence of alcohol. However, we are investigating the matter.” said a police officer of Dimakuchi Police Station.

The body of the victim was sent for autopsy and the report is awaited.
