After producing before the court of chief judicial magistrate (CJM) at Golaghat, the police took remand of Gogoi for two days.
Rohini Kumar Gogoi was arrested after the forensic report of his licensed pistol, which was seized by the police, came positive.
The police have registered a case (No 07/2020) under sections 307 of the Indian Penal Code, read with 25 (1)(A) and 27 of the Arms Act.
It is to be noted that a group of unknown miscreants opened fire at the house of Rupa and Pranjal Rajkhowa situated at Habial village in Assam’s Golaghat district.
In the same incident, a Maruti van, owned by one Binay Baruah, was also got damaged.
Both Rajkhowa couple and Baruah took the lead in organising an anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) agitation at Ganakpukhuri.
Gogoi is known for his close terms with the BJP MLA from Khumtai, Mrinal Saikia.
