Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) B D Mishra on Monday flagged off 15 senior division cadets of 1 Arunachal Pradesh National Cadet Corps Battalion Swachhta Pakhwada Relay Cycle Rally from Raj Bhavan in Itanagar.
During the rally, the cyclists will interact with local population to spread the awareness of Swachhta Abhiyan.

Gohpur in Assam on the first day and Biswanath Chariali on the second day will be the interaction halts of the rally.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor advised the cadets to imbibe the spirit of unity, patriotism and discipline.

Recalling his days as NCC cadet in 1957 to 59, he said that NCC programmes help the cadets to develop positivity and ideal of service.
Complimenting the cadets taking part in the Swachhta Pakhwada Relay cycle rally, the Governor said that they are the ambassadors of the Swachhta Abhiyan.
“Success of the Abhiyan depends on the approach and involvement of the cadets,” Mishra said and exhorted the cadets to participate in all social programmes and shape the destiny of the nation.
Earlier, Commanding Officer, 1 AP NCC Bn highlighting on the cycle rally informed that Maha Swachhta Abhiyan started in April 2018 and would conclude October 2 next under Prime Minister’s office’s directions to all NCC establishments to commemorate 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
As part of the culmination of Maha Swachhta Abhiyan, a Swachhta Pakhwada is being organized from September 17 to October 2.
This includes various activities like cleaning of schools, colleges, monuments, railway stations and hospitals.
Moreoever, awareness activities like seminars, paintings, photography, essay and other competitions for NCC cadets all over the north-eastern region will be conducted.
Senior under officer Ashok Debnath, under officers Tai Talap, Satnam Singh Dhillon and Nani Takar, Sergeants Tashi Sarmu and Arun Ramachiary, corporals Likha Obi, Shiva Rai, Aido Tonong Pabin, and Chera Tana and lance corporal Subash Sonar and cadets Sagar Pradhan, Tania Motu, Taro Apang and Ashish Kumar Upadhyay are the cyclists participating in the rally.
