Dibrugarh: The Airports Authority of India (AAI) on Monday announced the commencement of Akasa Air operations at Dibrugarh Airport, marked by a formal inaugural ceremony attended by officials from AAI and the airline.

Akasa Air operated its maiden flight on February 3, 2026, on the Bagdograโ€“Dibrugarhโ€“Bagdogra sector, formally linking Upper Assam with North Bengal through the new service.

The airline will now operate regular flights on the Bengaluruโ€“Bagdograโ€“Dibrugarhโ€“Bagdograโ€“Bengaluru route, significantly enhancing air connectivity between Upper Assam, North Bengal, and South India.

Services will operate three days a weekโ€”Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. The flight schedule at Dibrugarh Airport is as follows: QP1850 will operate from Bengaluru via Bagdogra to Dibrugarh with a scheduled time of arrival at 10:25 hrs, while QP1851 will depart Dibrugarh via Bagdogra to Bengaluru with a scheduled time of departure at 11:00 hrs.

The new operation is expected to benefit passengers by improving access for business, tourism, education, and medical travel across the connected regions.

AAI Dibrugarh extended a warm welcome to Akasa Air and expressed optimism about a long and successful association in serving the travelling public.
