Tanishqa Patar of India Club, Guwahati annexed the Girl’s Singles (under 14 years) title defeating Namrata Das also from Guwahati in a gruelling final by 4-6, 6-3, 10-6.

In the Boy’s Singles (under 12 years) final, Antariksh Tamuly from Golaghat won the title beating Aryan Bora also from Golaghat by 6-3, 2-6, 10-5 in the 3rd Guwahati Open Junior Tennis Championship 2018-19, organised by Guwahati Lawn Tennis Association (GLTA), at RG Baruah Sports Complex, Nehru Stadium played here on Thursday.

All the finals of the Boy’s Singles (under 14 and 18 years) and Girl’s Singles (under 12 and 18 years) will play on Friday from morning 7.30 am onwards.

The closing prize distribution ceremony will be held on January 11, 2019 at 3.00 pm.

GIRL’S SINGLES – UNDER 14 YEARS (SEMI- FINAL) – Tanishqa Patar bt. Ananya Borthakur 6-2, 6-1, Namrata Das bt. Meghna Bharadwaj 6-3, 6-2.

BOY’S SINGLES – UNDER 12 YEARS (SEMI-FINAL) –Antariksh Tamuly bt. Raunak Kashyap 6-1, 6-1, Aryan Borah bt. Ayanav Kashyap 6-1, 6-2.

The organising committee has requested all the sports lovers to witness the finals and also to attend the closing function, stated Kalyan K. Das, the president of Guwahati Lawn tennis Association (GLTA).
