According to information, the suspected group of people were having food in an open paddy field at Kathalguri area when they were held by the locals.

Meanwhile, Ajit Baruah, Sub-Inspector of police (Border) at Tinsukia has been investigating the case and interrogation is going on till the filing of this report.

Baruah said, the border police have already initiated legal process and until the relatives of the detained people can prove their citizenship by submitting relevant documents, the suspected people would be handed over to the owner of the brickfield of Arunachal Pradesh.

Sources informed that the suspected people hail from Morigaon district of Assam and the relatives were on the way to Bordumsa with the required documents to support their claim to be Indians.

When the issue of influx of illegal foreigners continues to rock Assam and other northeastern States including Arunachal Pradesh, question has been raised how suspected people were engaged as labourers in a brickfield near Bordumsa in Arunachal Pradesh.
