Assam Police have arrested 13 Rohingya refugees, including 6 children, from Karimganj district for illegally entering India through the Indo-Bangladesh border in Karimganj district.

According to a media report, the arrested Rohingya refugees were taken into police custody on Tuesday.

The refugees were detained as they were moving in a bus from Agartala to Guwahati.

The report quoted sources as saying that they were arrested from the Churaibari inter-state border.

It has been reported that the 13 Rohingya refugees, including 4 men and 3 women, are from two different families.
