One more positive patient succumbed to Covid19 infection in Assam on Sunday, taking the state’s death toll to 981.
Confirming the sad news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in his latest tweet on the state’s Covid19 status on Sunday said: “Sad to share the demise of one #COVID patient today.”
The deceased has been identified as 50-year-old Mahesh Chauhan, a resident of Udalguri district.

“Condolences to the bereaved family! Om Shanti,” health minister sarma tweeted.
Assam so far has registered a total of 2,12,483.
The state registered 163 new Covid19 positive cases on Saturday.
On Saturday, Kamrup Metro district registered 61 new cases.
The new cases were detected out of 23,927 tests.
A total of 2,08,187 patients have been discharged from various Covid Care Centres hospitals in Assam so far.
With the death of one more positive patient, Assam currently has 3,312 active Covid19 cases.
