A trailer truck bearing the registration No NL 02 L2481 was seized on Friday by the Dhaligaon Police in Bongaigaon (Assam). The trailer truck was reportedly carrying ganja weighing 717.15 kg and was seized near Dhaligaon check gate.
Two persons have been arrested by the police in this connection and the truck was carrying the ganja from Agartala in Tripura to Patna in Bihar. According to police, the market price of the ganja is estimated to be more than Rs 10 lakhs.
Acting on a tip-off, the police went to Dhaligaon check gate and apprehended the drug peddlers.
The drug peddlers did not disclose any names. A case has been registered against the duo and further investigations are on.
