In another major breakthrough, Hailakandi Police on Sunday has nabbed three suspected Bangladeshi nationals from Lala Bazaar area of the district in Barak valley of Assam.
As per the details available, the Hailakandi Police were screening the people and new arrivals at various villages of the district.
On Sunday evening, after thorough investigation three people were nabbed from a remote village under Lala Bazaar police station area, who were suspected to be Bangladeshi nationals.
As informed by a senior police official, the arrested persons have been identified as Mohammed Hafiz Molla, Ayar Ali and Mohammed Bablu Molla.
They all are suspected as the citizens of Bhulbaria village of Gopalganj district of Bangladesh.
At a time when the issue of preparing the updated final National Register of Citizens in Assam is in a very sensitive stage, nabbing of three suspected Bangladeshis at this time is believed to be a big achievement of the police.
Meanwhile, investigation is going on into the whole matter.
Police have also intensified combing operation to detect any more suspected Bangladeshi nationals who may have taken shelter in the remote villages of the district.
