The Sivasagar election district for the 12 Jorhat HPC has made elaborate traffic arrangement and route mapping for distribution of polling materials and smooth movement of vehicles on April 10, the day ahead of the polling day on April 11.

The traffic restrictions will start from 5 am on April 10 and will continue till all polling materials and poll personnel are distributed and deployed.

The administration has imposed no entry for all vehicles from KPM Chariali point to Boarding field except for election duties, from Muktinath Chariali point to Boarding field, on Red Cross road, and at BRB Road except for elections duties.

The district administration has directed all vehicles requisitioned for election purpose to enter inside the Boarding field from first gate and will exit from second gate.

As per the arrangements, if parking for buses fall inadequate, few buses will be parked on one side of the road starting from Sivasagar Government HS and MP School to KPM Chariali.

It will be one way traffic for all vehicles engaged in polling and of officials from Muktinath Chariali to KPM Chariali.

Traffic restrictions and route mapping on the day of submission of polling materials on April 11 are imposed from 2 pm.

There will be no entry for all vehicles except the vehicles carrying polling materials and security personnel from KPM Chariali point to Board field.

No entry has also been imposed from Muktinath Chariali point to Boarding field, along Red Cross road and BRB road except for election duties.

Vehicles carrying polling materials and security personnel will enter from KPM Chariali point and will enter Boarding field from first gate and after dropping the polling materials and security personnel will exit from the second gate and will leave Boarding field from Muktinath Chariali point.

Vehicles requisitioned for dropping the security personnel to their respective places will be parked on one side of A T Road.

No parking for all vehicles has also been imposed from Muktinath chariali point to KPM Chariali point.

This was apprised to media by Sivasagar superintendent of police Amitabh Sinha at a meeting chaired by deputy commissioner and district election officer, Dr S Lakshmanan held at Sukafa Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Monday.
