Sensation prevails in Rangia under Kamrup (Rural) district of Assam following recovery of a bomb from the residence of one Tariful Ali at Khandikar village on Sunday morning.
According to media reports, the bomb was recovered during a joint operation by Rangia police and security forces.
However, the family members of Tariful Ali claimed that they had no idea how the bomb came to their house.
Reports said, the people of Khandikar village in Rangia made hue and created an unruly situation when the police tried to arrest Tariful Ali in connection with the recovery of the bomb.
The villagers termed the recovery of the bomb a ‘pre-planned drama’ by the police ahead of the Independence Day.
A local asserted that they have known Tariful Ali since long and they are confident that Ali could never be involved in such activities.
“It is a pre-planned drama,” the local said.
The locals also staged a protest before the police at the spot.
It has been reported that in order to control the situation, police and security force personnel have been deployed in the area.
