Enforcement staff of DistrictTransport Office (DTO) Barpeta and Apurba Nath, magistrate of Bajali subdivision with the help of police conducted random checking of vehicles at Pathsala area of Assam’s Barpeta district on Tuesday.

During checking 97 vehicles were fined for violating MV rules and collected spot fine amounting to Rs 28,800.

Documents of as many as 31 number of vehicle were seized during the operation.

Moreover, one motor cycle also seized during the checking.

It may be mentioned that the graph of accidents, especially involving two wheelers, have an upward raising trend for last few days in the area and number of people have lost their valuable lives.

The locals have appreciated the effort of the authorities to reign in reckless driving in the region.
