Like previous years, Lokabandhu Day was celebrated on Tuesday  by the Pathsala branch of Indian Medical Association (IMA) with a plethora of programmes at Pathsala of Barpeta district in Assam.

This year’s Lokabandhu Day, which is celebrated on September 4 every year in the memory of Lokabandhu Dr Bhubaneswar Borooah, started with tree sapling plantation in the office premises of IMA, Pathsala branch.

In the evening, a felicitation programme was organized which was followed by a colourful cultural programme.

Several eminent doctors like Dr Rajani Deka, Dr Hitesh Talukder, Dr Deepjyoti Das took the opportunity to showcase their talents through various cultural activities.

A short drama written by Dr Pankaj Kalita was also presented by members of IMA, Pathsala branch which was much applauded by the present audience.

The cultural programme was followed by a dinner.

Dr John Das and Dr Rupam Choudhury were also present in the event as the representatives from the Indian Dental Association.

Dr Rajen Deka, Dr Prabhat Sarma, Dr Subrata Sarma, Dr Newton Das, Dr Champak Dutta were also present on the occasion.
