After Zubeen Garg, it’s noted film director from Assam, Rima Das who, has come out in protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016.

On Thursday, the internationally acclaimed filmmaker has said that the government should respect the sentiments of the people of Assam. She was of the opinion that the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill has created unrest not only in Assam but in entire Northeast.

“I want that sentiments of the people of Assam should be taken into consideration. Government should not do something which hurts the sentiments of the people of the State,” said Das on the sidelines of a Northeast Business Summit in New Delhi.

The summit was organized by the Indian Chamber of Commerce.

Das came into fame after her movie Village Rockstars became India’s official entry into the race to the Oscar.

Last week, Assam’s heartthrob, youth icon and singer Zubeen Garg already raised his voice against the controversial bill.
