Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who recently visited Assam and campaigned for party candidates at Moran in Dibrugarh district and Gohpur in Biswanath district of Assam ahead of the ensuing Lok Sabha polls, will visit Assam again on April 7, 2019.
This time Prime Minister Modi will campaign at Silchar for party candidates in the Barak Valley.
The information over Modi’s second round of visit to Assam was revealed by the general secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and in-charge of northeastern states Ram Madhav.
Speaking to media persons in Guwahati after being present during the nomination filing by party candidate for Guwahati Lok Sabha candidate Queen Ojah on Monday, Ram Madhav again reiterated that the saffron party will be able to win 10 seats in Assam in the ensuing Lok Sabha polls.
There are 14 Lok Sabha seats in Assam.
While the BJP is contesting in 10 parliamentary constituencies, it has left three seats for its ally Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and one seat for its another ally Bodoland People’s Front (BPF).
The AGP will contest from Kaliabor, Barpeta and Dhubri parliamentary constituencies while the BPF will contest from Kokrajhar Lok Sabha constituency.
