Host Mangaldai College of Darrang district of Assam has bagged the trophy of the Gauhati University Inter College ‘Swahid Memorial’ debate competition organized in the college on Thursday.
The topic of the debate was “Proper work culture is the basis of all round development of a country”.
The Mangaldai College team comprising of promising debators namely Pranjal Deka and Apurba Deka emerged champions ahead of their close contenders of Cotton University and Gauhati University.
Cotton University team comprising Jesmine Sultana and Hemanga Gogoi was adjudged as the runner up while Gauhati University represented by Mun Talukdar and Anaswata Mahanta bagged the third position.
Pranjal Deka of Mangaldai College has been adjudged as the best debator.
Dr Nagendra Nath Sarma, veteran academician and former HoD of Political Science Department of Mangaldai College performed the role of the Speaker while Jintu Gohain, Karabi Sharma and Santosh Borkakati were in the chairs as jury of judges.
This is informed by Dr Barnali Deka , teacher in charge of the debate section of the college on Friday.
