The Art of Living Foundation has installed an equipment that can help in removal of poisonous elements like arsenic and iron from contaminated water in Majuli of Assam on Thursday.

The equipment was set up at Kothomiya village of the world’s largest river island.

The equipment was invented by Robin Dutta, a professor working in the chemical science department of Tezpur University. It has been termed as ‘Arsiron Nilogon’ equipment.

Arsiron Nilogon is a simple and effective water treatment process developed under Department of Science & Technology, New Delhi.

The process can help in removal of arsenic and iron simultaneously from household water at a very low cost.

The first working model of ‘Arsiron Nilogon’ set up in Majuli will help its residents to treat their household water at a very low price before consumption .

The equipment will thus help in providing safe drinking water to the residents of the village.

The Art of Living Foundation is a volunteer-based, humanitarian and educational non-governmental organization and has centers in more than 156 countries.
