After emerging as the winners of the respective clusters, Lakhipur (Cachar) and Udalguri District Sports Associations have qualified for the final round of the Sujit Narzary Memorial Inter-District U-13 Football Tournament scheduled to be held at Mangaldai in Darrang district on Sunday.

In the three matches played at the Mangaldai Stadium on Sunday, the Udalguri football team won both their matches while the Lakhipur boys emerged winners in the remaining match.
In their first match of the day, the Udalguri soccer team beat Dhemaji football team by 7-6 goals via tie-breaker after the match was locked 3-3 in the regulation time.
In their second match, the Udalguri football team got the better of the North Lakhimpur team by a solitary goal.

In another match of the day, the Lakhipur team outclassed the Tezpur team by 4-1 goals to emerge winner in the cluster four to get qualified for the final round of the tournament.
In addition to Udalguri and Lakhipur, Tamulpur and Guwahati are the two other teams to be declared as qualified for the final round matches to be held in Nagaon. This was informed by Bipul Kr Sarma, the football secretary of the organizers, Mangaldai Sports Association.
In Mangaldai, the matches of clusters from one to four have been played where a total of fifteen district sports associations participated, out of the total seventeen districts, were finalized for qualifying round.
Dima Hasao and Karimganj are the two districts which remained absent from the tournament , the MSA football secretary added.
