Gauhati University and Oil India Limited (OIL) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Gauhati University on Tuesday to extend the facility of Technology Incubation Centre at Gauhati University as part of the flagship national programme of Start Up India.

Gauhati University has already constituted a Technology Incubation Centre (TIC) which is working towards fostering industry-academia linkages and formulating an ecosystem for startups and incubator.

The registrar of Gauhati University, Prof Nani Gopal Mahanta was the signatory on behalf of Gauhati University while executive director, Corporate Affairs, OIL, Dr Rahul Dasgupta, signed on behalf of Oil India Limited.

The MoU signing event was attended by Dr Mridul Hazarika, vice chancellor of Gauhati University, deans, director GUIST, coordinator, IQAC, Prof Parag Phukan, Prof K K Sarma, coordinator, GUTIC etc.

M C Nihalini, CGM R & amp; D D R Banerjee, CGM & amp; Asset Manager-W, N Mathur, CGM CoEES, S Yamdo, GM Resv CoEES, R Goswami CGM-PHQ, S Goswami, general manager (Operations) PHQ were among other who attended the event.

The MoU has been an outcome of the Industry Academia Interaction Programme held at Gauhati University in April last year with the initiative of Utpal Bora, CMD-OIL and Dr Mridul Hazarika, vice chancellor of Gauhati University.
