Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, the Assam government has effected another major reshuffle in the police department of the state with transfer of several police officers.
A government notification issued on Thursday stated that In the interest of public service, Ranjan Bhuyan, deputy commissioner of police (Central), Police Commissionerate, Guwahati, has been transferred and posted as assistant inspector general of police (R), Assam in Guwahati, against the existing vacancy.
IPS officer Pratap Sinha, Commandant, 6th APBn, Kathal in Silchar, has been transferred and posted as Commandant, 15th AP(IR) Bn., Eraligool, Karimganj in place of Sanjib Sekhar Roy.
Sanjib Sekhar Roy, Commandant, 15th AP(IR) Bn., Eraligool, has been transferred and posted as Commandant, 6th APBn, Kathal and will replace Pratap Sinha.

IPS officer Mihir Goswami, Commandant, 1st AFPF Bn., Basistha, Guwahati has been transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police, FRRO, Headquarters, Dibrugarh, against the existing vacancy.
Musleh Uddin Ahmed, Commandant, 19th AP (IR) Bn, Tengakhat, Dibrugarh has been transferred and posted as Commandant, 22nd AP(IR)Bn, Likabali, Dhemaji in place of IPS officer Jitendra Kr Doley.
Jitendra Kr Doley, who is serving as Commandant, 22nd AP(IR) Bn, Likabali, has been transferred and posted as Commandant 2nd AFPF Bn, Sekoni, Jakhalabandha, against the existing vacancy.
On the other hand, Santanu Sharma Pathak, Commandant, 20th AP(IR) Bn, Panbari, Dhubri, has been transferred and posted as Commandant, 14th APBn, Daulashal, Nalhari, in place of Debendra Deka who has been transferred.
Satyajit Nath, Additional Superintendent of Police (HQ), Darrang, is allowed to hold the charge of post in the rank of SP/ Commandant/DCP/AIGP in the pay band of Rs 30,000-110000 Grade pay 14500/- P.M and posted as Superintendent of Police, FRRO, Headquarters, Jorhat, against the existing vacancy.
Ripul Das, ASP (HQ), Nagaon, is allowed to hold the charge of post in the rank of SP/ Commandant/DCP/AIGP in the pay band of 4 Rs. 30000-110000 Grade pay 14500/- P.M. and posted as AIGP (L), Assam, Guwahati, against existing vacancy.
Kamal Kumar Gupta, ASP (S), Kokrajhar, is allowed to hold the charge of post in the rank of SP/Comdt./DCP/AIGP in the pay band of 4 Rs.30000-110000 Grade pay 14500/- P.M. and posted as SP, FRRO, Headquarters, Guwahati, in place of Bhupendra Nath Hazarika, who has been transferred.
Leena Doley, ASP (HQ), Majuli, is allowed to hold the charge of post in the rank of SP/Comdt./DCP/AIGP in the pay band of 4 Rs.30000-110000 Grade pay 14500/- P.M. and posted as SP, CID, Assam, Guwahati in place of Pabindra Kr. Nath, who has been transferred.
Soren Machary, ASP (S), Nalbari, is allowed to hold the change of post in the rank of SP/ Comdi/DCP/AIGP in the pay band of 4 Rs.30000-110000 Grade pay 14500/- P.M. and posted as SP, FRRO, Headquarters, Bongaigaon, against existing vacancy.
Patrick Ronghang, ASP (B), Sivasagar, is allowed to hold the charge of post in the rank of SP/ Comdt./DCP/AIGP in the pay band of 4 Rs.30000-110000 Grade pay 14500/- P.M. and posted as SP, FRRO, Headquarters, Silchar, against existing vacancy.
Miranda Kadom Ingtipi, ADCP (Border), Police Commissioncrate, Guwahati, is allowed to hold the charge post in the rank of SP/ Comdt./DCP/AIGP in the pay band of 4 Rs.30000-110000 Grade pay 14500/- P.M. and posted as SP, FRRO, Headquarters, Nagaon, against existing vacancy.
Pabindra Kr. Nath, SP, CID, Assam, Guwahati is transferred and posted as SP, Human Rights Commission, Assam, Guwahati in place of Jayanta Choudhury. Who has been transferred.
IPS officer Bijoy Giri Kuligam, Commandant, 8th APBn, Abhayapuri, Bongaigaon, has been transferred and posted as Commandant, 26th AP(IR)Bn., Mankachar, South Salmara, against existing vacancy.
Dharmendra Kumar Das, Commandant, 2nd APTF Bn, Lumding, Hojai has been transferred and posted as DCP (Central), Police Commissionerate, Guwahati in place of Ranjan Bhuyan who has been transferred.
Debendra Deka, Commandant, 14th APBn, Daulashal, is transferred and posted as Commandant, 19th AP(IR)Bn, Tengakhat, Dibrugarh, in place of Musleh Uddin Ahmed, who has been transferred.
Raj Mohan Ray, ASP (HQ), South Salmara, is allowed to hold the charge of post in the rank of SP/ Comdt./DCP/AIGP in the pay band of 4 Rs 30000-110000 Grade pay 14500/- P.M. and posted as Commandant, 9th APBn, Barhampur, Nagaon against existing vacancy.
