As the Lok Sabha poll 2019 is nearing, the Assam government has effected a major reshuffle in its police department in the IPS level.
R. M. Singh, IPS, chairman of the Assam Police Housing Corporation, has been transferred and posted as the Director General of Home Guards and Commandant General of Civil Defence, Assam while Anil Kr. Jha, IPS, Special Director General (CID), Assam, has been transferred and posted as the chariman of Assam Police Housing Corporation vice R.M. Singh, IPS.
While K. Sinha Casshyap, IPS, Additional Director General of Police (T&AP), promoted to officiate in level 16 of the pay matrix, has been promoted as the Special Director General (T&AP), Assam.
Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, IPS, Additional Director General of Police (Border), promoted to officiate in level 16 of the pay matrix, has been promoted as the Special Director General (Border), Assam.
I.R. Bishnoi, IPS, Additional Director General of Police (Administration) Assam, has been transferred and posted as the Additional Director General of Police (CID), Assam while Harmeet Singh, IPS, Additional Director General of Police (Security), Assam has been transferred and posted as the Additional Director General of Police (Administration), Assam vice I.R. Bishnoi IPS transferred. He is also allowed to hold the additional charge of ADGP (M&L) and ADGP (Security), Assam in addition to his own duties.
On repatriation of central deputation, Deepak Kr Kedia has been posted as Inspector General of Police (L&O), Assam against existing vacancy.
