All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary and parliamentarian from Assam, Gaurav Gogoi on Thursday urged the Sarbananda Sonowal government to take action against All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) Chief Badruddin Ajmal for his verbal abuse and threat against a member of the press.

In a tweet on his official Twitter handle, the young Lok Sabha MP from Koiliabor In Assam also said that ‘the tacit understanding between BJP-AIUDF is clear for everyone to see’.

Notably, the AIUDF chief has invited ire from all quarters with strong protests across Assam over his outrageous behavior with an ETV journalist when asked a question during a press meet politely.

Even the Digital Media Journalists’ Association of Assam (DiMJAA) on Thursday lodged an FIR against AIUDF chief and Dhubri MP Maulana Badruddin Ajmal for his uncivilized and uncalled for behaviour with a journalist and threatening the scribe of dire consequences.
Ajmal threatened ETV’s South Salmara Mankachar reporter Kabir Mandal of dire consequences during a media interaction on Wednesday at Hatsingimari in South Salmara Mankachar district.

Following massive media outrage for misbehaving with a digital media journalist, All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief Badaruddin Ajmal on Thursday tendered his apologies, saying he respects media persons.
Ajmal tendered his apologies saying the Mankachar incident was an unintentional aberration.
