Due to the flood situation in the state, the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has postponed the ensuing Combined Competitive (Main) Examination, 2018 slated to be held from July 22, 2019.

Informing this, the secretary of the APSC through a statement said the decision to postpone the examination was taken during a meeting held on Wednesday.

During the meeting, the commission took stock of the present flood situation in Assam.

The commission expressed that many candidates belonging to affected areas have been facing the fury of the flood.

The Combined Competitive Examination is conducted for all eligible candidates and it is the aim of the commission to see that all candidates sit in the examination.

“But due to the prevailing situation created by the unprecedented flood, there is likelihood that a section of the candidates would be deprived of the opportunity of sitting in the examination which will render the competition incomplete and not fair,” the statement said.

“Under the circumstances and considering all other aspects like availability of venues and examinations conducted by other entities like the UPSC, the commission has decided to presently postpone the ensuing CC (Main) Examination, 2018 slated to be held from 22/7/2019,” it added.

“Examinations to be held from 22/7/2019 to 31/7/2019 are being rescheduled,” the statement further said.

However, the examination dates scheduled from August 2, 2019 to August 9, 2019 will remain same.

“Detail programme will be announced soon. Candidates will be issued fresh e-admission certificate,” the statement further added.
