At a time when the entire world is under the grip of Russia World Cup fever, the Maibang Sub-division headquarters in Dima Hasao district gears up to host Invitational Woman Knockout Football, 2018 which is scheduled to start on Sunday.
The football lovers in Maibang and other parts of the district are also eagerly waiting to enjoy the football tournament.
The Invitational Woman Knockout Football, 2018 – 4th MLA Cup 2018 will start from Sunday at the Dishru Club playground at Maibang.
The football tournament has been jointly organized by the Maibang Sports Association and the Mabibang Dishru Cultural Club.
The Maibang Sports Association and the Mabibang Dishru Cultural Club are ready to host the football tournament for which the All Assam Football Association, Guwahati has already given nod.
Along with last year’s champion team Kokrajhar, several women football teams from various parts of Assam will participate in the tournament.
The football teams to participate in the tournament include teams from Dhemaji, Baksa, Dhemaji, Goalpara, Nagaon, Naokata, Tinsukia, Moran, Dibrugarh, Silchar, Hailakandi, Kalain, Lakhipur, Udyan Krishti Sangha Football Coaching Centre, Guwahati.
Talking to Northeast Now, Maibang Sports Association’s publicity secretary Hem Prasad Ray and Manib Thaosen informed that in the Invitational Woman Knockout Football, 2018, the champion team will be presented with a cash prize of Rs 50,000, the first runners-up team will get Rs 30,000 while the second runners-up team will receive Rs 20,000.
Apart from these, the Best player, Best goalkeeper and Best goal scorer prizes will also be presented at the event.
Besides, in order to raise funds, the Maibang Sports Association will also organize a donation coupon game.
