The Dibrugarh district administration in collaboration with the Assam State Aids Control Society is going to organise the State level event of International Youth Day 2018 on August 12 in Dibrugarh.

Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, Dibrugarh Deputy Commissioner Laya Madduri said the theme of the International Youth Day for this year is ‘Safe Spaces for Youth’.

She said on the occasion, a number of awareness and motivational programmes/performances involving students of various colleges and higher secondary schools will be held to explore the capability of the youth of the society.

Madduri also said Piyush Hazarika, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, will attend the State level function of the International Youth Day as the Chief Guest on August 12 at DHSK College.

“We urge the youths to participate in the programme in large number. A debate competition will be held at Duliajan College on the occasion,” said Deputy Commissioner Madduri.
