The Dhubri police seized 156 cattle heads across the district in the last 48 hours during a drive launched against illegal trade of cattle.
The Dhubri police also arrested three cattle smugglers in this connection.
On Saturday night, 71 cattle heads were seized by a joint team of Agomoni Police Station and Chagolia Outpost of Dhubri district on Saturday while the rest were seized from different locations of the district.

In connection with the cattle smuggling case on Saturday, police arrested two cattle smugglers.
They have been identified as Moinul Haque of Pokalagi village under Golakganj Police Station and Ashraful Haque of Choto Dighaltari village under the same police station of Dhubri district.
The police also registered a case at Golakganj Police Station vide case No. 840/2019 U/S 120 (B) /379 IPC R/W Sec 11 (1) (a) (b) (d) Prevention of Cruelty to the Animal Act.
Later, in a similar drive against cattle smuggling, a police team led by Trinayan Bhuyan, deputy superintendent of police (HQ), Dhubri, arrested one more cattle smuggler on Sunday.
He has been identified as Jahinur Islam of Madhusoulmari Part I village under Gauripur Police Station of Dhubri district.
Necessary legal action is being initiated and further search and raids are also planned on the basis of clues gathered so far, said Bhuyan.
