Re-poll at the polling station No 136, Upper Dilaji LP School under 3 Autonomous District parliamentary constituency in Karbi Anglong district ended without any glitch on Wednesday.

The re-poll was held due to technical error in VVPAT machine in the second phase of Lok Sabha polls on April 18.

Out of the total 688 voters, 487 came again to the polling station and exercised their franchise.

The polling percentage during re-poll at the polling station No 136, Upper Dilaji LP School was 70.78 per cent.

The deputy commissioner of Karbi Anglong district, who is the returning officer for 3 Autonomous District (ST) parliamentary constituency, Mukul Kumar Saikia announced re-poll in the polling station on April 22 following error in the VVPAT machine.

On Wednesday, polling started at 7 am and ended at 5 pm.

The presiding officer of the polling station, Probin Basumatary, said that voting was peacefully concluded.

At the end of voting process, the Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) was sealed in front of the election agents of the contesting candidates.

The sealed EVM was brought to the strong room at Diphu Government College under tight security after the polling.

Meanwhile, re-poll was peacefully conducted at four polling stations under Karimganj Lok Sabha constituency.
