Two youths have been arrested from Dimapur in Nagaland by Khatkhati police with the help of Dimapur police on June 25 night on charges of being involved in the murder of businessman Mool Singh Rathore.

Rathore was killed on June 23, 2019 night.

The duo was arrested in connection with a case No. C/No.84/19 U/s 120(B), 396 IPC, R/w Section 27(3) of Arms Act.

The arrested have been identified as 27-year-old Md Azizul Islam, a resident of Balijan Khan Basti and 27-year-old Nitesh Kumar Thakur, who is a resident of Dimapur Sewak Rio Colony.

It may be mentioned that late on Monday, an Alto car without registration number plate, suspected to be used in the murder of businessman Moolsingh Rathore, was recovered at Hatoka Mensing Tisso village under the Dillai police station in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district.

From inside the car, a single glove and two numbers of live ammunition were also recovered.

Police started investigation to ascertain the owner of the vehicle.

Businessman Rathore was shot multiple times from point blank range by unidentified gunmen. He succumbed to his injuries on reaching the hospital.

A gang of six to seven masked men dressed in army fatigues and armed with AK- 47 rifle and pistol stormed into the residence of Moolsingh Rathore and attempted robbery by holding the businessman’s wife, son and daughter in-law at gunpoint.

The trader, who was returning home received a distress call from his son and rushed to the spot to confront the gang of armed assailants, who had robbed of valuables including jewellery and cash from his residence.

Rathore’s residence is only a few kilometres away from the interstate border of Nagaland.
