Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein urged the Lohit district administration and other stakeholders to provide a new look to the Parshuram Kund Mela 2020.

Mein on Friday held a review meeting with the Lohit district administration and various stakeholders for the upcoming Parshuram Kund Mela, which will be held on January 14, 2020.

“Parshuram Kund Mela is a historic and important festival celebrated in Arunachal. Everyone should cooperate to give it a new look and conduct it successfully,” Mein said.

He assured that he will leave no stone unturned to ensure that Parshuram Kund Mela 2020 is organised successfully.

Mein gave his assurance to the mela’s organising committee to support financially, physically and mentally for the grand success of the said event.

He directed the working departments, especially PHED, PWD and Power to ensure timely completion of their entrusted works.

“The energy of the youth needs to be channelised in a positive direction. Engage them during the festival and provide job opportunities to the local youths,” Mein said.

The meeting was also attended by Tezu MLA Karikho Kri, Deputy Commissioner Prince Dhawan, Superintendent of Police DW Thongon, all the administrative officers and HoDs of Lohit district and members of Parsuram Gram Seva Samiti.

Issues like traffic control, maintenance of law and order, overall management of the function, and regulating the flow of devotees were points discussed elaborately in the meeting.

In the meeting, it was also decided that there will be a prohibition in the sale of liquor and non-vegetarian food during the mela in the area.
