Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu has said that the NEC (Northeastern Council) needs to reincarnate itself as a regional think-tank to fulfil the aspirations of the region. 

Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu made this remark after meeting NEC Secretary โ€“ K Moses Chalai in Itanagar on Friday morning. 

The Arunachal Pradesh CM also apprised the NEC Secretary of the challenges that the state face and needs to be addressed in NEC โ€˜discourseโ€™. 

CM Khandu also said that the NEC has a far greater role to play for the region.

Arunachal Pradesh CM tweeted: โ€œThe @NEC_GoI has to reincarnate itself as regional think-tank for #NorthEast. A meeting with #NEC Secy, Sh K Moses Chalai Ji (IAS) this morning for the nodal agency to play far greater role. Arunachal given its unique challenges need to be accorded priority in NEC discourse.โ€
