Itanagar, the State capital of Arunachal Pradesh, has geared up to host the first Arunachal LitFest 2018.
The three-day Arunachal LitFest 2018 will be held at D.K. State Memorial Convention Centre in Itanagar from November 28 to November 30, 2018.
The programmes will start at 10 am and conclude at 5 pm.
The main attractions of Arunachal LitFest 2018 – Buiding Bridges Through Literature – are panel discussion by prominent authors and poets; interface with eminent writers; short story reading; poetry reading; book exhibition and cultural night.
The star participants are Mark Tully, Mamang Dai, Dhruba Hazarika, Yeshe Dorjee Thongchi, Mridula Garg, Dr Rita Choudhury, Ravi Singh and many others.
In August this year, the Arunachal Literature & Art Festival (ALAF) – The Prelude got underway to an overwhelming response from lovers of art and literature at the Indira Gandhi Park in Itanagar.
The inaugural day witnessed a huge footfall of art lovers who flocked the venue to have glimpse of the works of local artists of the likes of Jene Hai, Gyamar Nanam, Rinchin Choden, Kenjum Angu, Takam Harming, Zarjo Bengia and Bhanu Tatak, whose creations were exhibited in the art exhibition.
The book fair at the festival venue also drew a considerable number of book lovers to the stalls.
Publishing houses like Tulika Books, Teri Press, Kalpravirksha, Sahitiya Akademi, and home publisher Potigarh of Naharlagun have put up their stalls in the book fair.
While inaugurating the art & literature festival, Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein said the State Government was committed to extend support and help in promoting arts and literature.
