The Arunachal State Badminton Association (ASBA), in a bid to promote the sports in the state, has decided to introduce a franchise-based badminton league in the state soon.
“The Arunachal badminton league will be introduced after getting approval from the Badminton Association of India,” informed ASBA president Ratu Techi.

Techi further informed that a foreign coach would be hired to train the young players of the state.
“Arunachal Pradesh has 22 affiliated district badminton associations, including the Capital Complex and the Sangay Lhaden Sports Academy,” Techi said.
Winners of the first North East Olympic Games held in Manipur and the North East Zone Interstate Badminton Championship held in Nagaland were also felicitated by the ASBA.
