Arunachal Pradesh’s Golom Tinku bagged a bronze medal at the ongoing Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championship in Uzbekistan on Saturday.
Tinku lifted 91 kg in the snatch event and 122 kg in the clean and jerk event to total 213 kg and bag the bronze medal.

Moreover, another weightlifter from Arunachal Pradesh Boni Mangkhiya also bagged a bronze medal in Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championship on Friday.

Mangkhiya had lifted a total of 162 kg (69 kgs in snatch and 93 kgs in clean & jerk) on Friday.

The Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championship commenced at Tashkent, the capital city of Uzbekistan on February 13.
The international tournament will conclude on February 19.
It may be mentioned that Tinku became the first player from Arunachal Pradesh to bag a gold medal in the third edition of the Khelo India Youth Games.
He had lifted a total of 209 kg to won gold in the U-17 boys’ weightlifting in the 55 kg category in the Khelo India Youth Games last month.
