Barely two days after the newly elected BJP government took charge in Arunachal Pradesh; unidentified miscreant on Friday set a vehicle on fire and killed a dog before the house of Lok Sabha MP and state BJP president Tapir Gao.
The incident took place around 6 am on Friday when miscreants brought the vehicle to the gate of the house of the Lok Sabha MP at Itanagar and set it on fire. The miscreants also killed a dog on the site and decamped.
Gao was in Delhi when the incident took place. The Lok Sabha MP has informed this to the police and the chief secretary of the state. The family members have lodged a complaint in the regard.
“It seems that some people are trying to terrify me and my family. There has also been attack on me on the social media also in the past. This is a politically motivated incident. Lots of people have lost in the elections. So some of them might target me as I am the MP and party president” said Gao.
He expressed unhappiness about the police action regarding the incident and said that he fails to understand as to why police is taking so much time to arrest the culprit when there is CCTV footage and the culprits have already been identified by the local people.
“The accused had been identified and police teams have been sent to arrest him,” said Arunachal Pradesh DGP SBK Singh.
The DGP refused to comment if the accused belong to any political party.
“We have received a complaint and operation is on to arrest the accused. We can say anything only after we catch him,” said Singh.
