The State unit of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) organized its first ever ‘Yuva Sammelan’ attracting 2,000 participants from all the districts of the State to the Nyokum Lapang ground here on Sunday.

The three-day sammelan concluding on September 25 will witness various sports, cultural events, party meetings and dissemination of knowledge about various schemes and benefits provided by the State as well as Central government to the people.

State BJYM President Taring TIri told NE Now that discussions on the 2019 elections will be high on the Yuva Morcha’s agenda. “There is also sports and cultural events for healthy body and sound mind of the party workers,” he said.

Awareness on Central and State schemes will be imparted to the district and Mandal-level karyakatas of the party so that they inform the people at the village level.

BJP’s State Convener for IT Vijay Sonam highlighted the ‘Modi Mobile Apps’ and sought the best use of the apps in attaining party objectives, works and knowledge on various development works of the party.

Seeking help from the party’s youth workers, he asked them to participate in every decision-making of the party by the Apps.

“A person has very limited knowledge about various schemes and pilot projects provided by the government, which these Apps will provide. We will discuss more on the Apps for deriving maximum benefit,” Sonam said.

Liromoba MLA Nyamar Karbak inaugurated the sports event – tug-of-war among participants from different districts – in the morning.

BJYM National General Secretary Saurav Chaudhry, BJYM National Secretary Sourav Sikdar, National Secretary Sikut Dutta attended the programme.
