BD Mishra, Arunachal Pradesh Governor briefed Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on security along the state’s borders. Indian Army chief General Bipin Rawat was also present at the briefing.
Arunachal Pradesh shares its border with Bhutan in the west, China in the north and Myanmar in the east. The Defence Minister was also informed of the coordination interaction which the Governor had with GOC 3 Corps and GOC 4 Corps and the Formation Commanders, whose troops are deployed along the India-China border in Arunachal Pradesh.

Nirmala Sitharaman appreciated the good work of the Indian Army, which they are providing to the civilians in the border area’s.
On the initiative of Governor BD Mishra, the centre has decided that eight villages will be developed into self-sustaining units with proper living facilities for the village people. These eight villages have been identified by the army as the forward most segment of the international border.
During the briefing, it was decided that more welfare schemes will be introduced for the civilians in future by the Indian Army.
