Arunachal Pradesh, along with the rest of country, is all set to celebrate Independence Day in a grand manner.
Accordingly, to ensure that the celebration goes as planned, Capital Complex deputy commissioner, Prince Dhawan on Monday took stock of preparations being made by various departments at Indira Gandhi Park here, the venue which would see thousands gather on to celebrate the big day on Wednesday.
The deputy commissioner after going through a detailed inspection, called a review meeting of all the stakeholders involved in the preparation during which he asked them to ensure that no last minute lacunae is left and the day is celebrated in a grand way in its true spirit.
Dhawan said the seating arrangement has been done in a different way this year to ensure proper view for everyone.
He informed that a total of 23 contingents including students and uniformed personnel are participating in the Independence Day parade while a cultural team from Meghalaya is also arriving in Itanagar on Tuesday to participate in the celebration.
“Besides that, ten tribes from the state and four different cultural teams from various schools of the Capital Complex would also take part in the celebrations,” the deputy commissioner said.
The security forces also stepped up measures to avert any untoward incident. Elaborate security measures have been placed around the Capital Complex and adequate security personnel have been posted at all check points and gates leading to the capital city.
