Papum Pare Superintendent of Police Tumme Amo has urged the civil society bodies and NGOs to play a positive role in taking State towards newer heights.
Amo stated that there are various issues where NGOs can assist authorities’ right from traffic problem, domestic violence, crime awareness, etc.
He said this on Saturday while attending an event organized Itanagar-based NGO Being Arunachalee (BA) here.
Speaking during the same event, Tassor Pali, Deputy Director, Arunachal Pradesh State Aids Control Society expressed concern over how NGOs are formed with a motive of harassing individuals and government departments.
“Lots of NGOs are formed to seek donations from departments and individuals. Also several of them are formed to harass government departments and officials misusing RTI,” said Pali.
He, however, expressed hope that Being Arunachalee NGO will truly work for the benefit of the people of state and change the work culture of NGOs.
In his address, president of Being Arunachalee, Ringu Kuku informed that it is a non-political organization and will silently work to serve the society.
Education undersecretary Likha Tejji and Being Arunachalee secretary Techi Tara also spoke on the occasion.
