To strengthen party activities in the wake of forthcoming assembly poll in Arunachal Pradesh, National People’s Party (NPP) has opened an office in East Siang district bordering to Dhemaji of Assam on Sunday.

Opening the party office, District President Tapang Taloh said that NPP is a political party having own ideology and working for changing political situation.

He said that NPP is resorting out a movement to bring the state towards new political era of hope and sustenance in the frontier state.

Taloh disclosed that State NPP committee has taken decision to field candidate in all constituencies of East Siang and Upper Siang districts of Arunachal in the forthcoming assembly election.

He appealed the local people to extend their support towards NPP and asked the office bearers to boost the party activities in the district for the forthcoming election.

On the occasion, block level and village level functionaries were given appointment with certain portfolios to hold party responsibilities.

NPP sources informed that a team of NPP leaders led by State president Gicho Karbak is arriving at Bilat area under Ruksin block on September 3 this year to address the local people.

Among others, NPP’s State general secretary cum in-charge of Upper Siang and East Siang district Ote Taying, East Siang district general secretary Tabiram Moyong, Ruksin block president Kapong Paron attended the opening programme.

Earlier on August 3 last, NPP state level functionaries in presence of party MLAs opened an office at Tirap in eastern Arunachal and directed the district office bearers to boost the party organization there.

Seven of the nine elected MLAs of the People’s Party of Arunachal (PPA) joined the NPP during July this year. The NPP is a partner of the ruling alliance led by BJP as both parties are presently in the North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA), which governs the state.

Emergence of NPP in the state is making the political equations difficult as the state has been governed by Congress and BJP for decades.
