In a bid to tackle the possible outbreak of coronavirus, the Namsai district administration will be strictly screening commuters entering Arunachal Pradesh at Dirak check gate.

District administration officials informed that commuters who have travelled to countries affected by the virus will be specially screened and examined.

People will have to fill up surveillance forms at the gate. Those found infected with the virus will be sent to an isolated location.

The decisions to screen commuters and quarantine patients were taken in an emergency meeting convened by Namsai EAC Ribi Karlo on Saturday.

District Surveillance Officer (IDSP) CM Thamoung made a presentation on the global health crisis during the meeting.

He spoke on the safety measures one needs to take and informed that an advisory from the district magistrate will be circulated soon.
