In the first visit to his district after taking charge as deputy chief minister of Arunachal Pradesh for second consecutive time, Chowna Mein was on Thursday accorded a grand welcome here by the district administration, BJP workers and the local people.
Namsai MLA Chau Zingnu Namchoom and Lekang MLA Jummum Ete Deori accompanied him.
At public meetings held in Mahadevpur and Namsai, Mein said the efforts of BJP leaders and workers have resulted in a massive win for the party candidates from Namsai district in the recently-concluded Assembly elections and the highest average of margin has been recorded from Namsai district.
He thanked the people of Namsai district for reposing their faith in them and making them win with a massive margin. He also thanked the people of the district for strengthening the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Mein assured that along with the two MLAs of Namsai and Lekang, their concerted efforts will be to bring in more reforms, work untiringly for the development of the district to take it to newer heights and make it a model district.
Praising Modi’s and chief minister Pema Khandu’s initiatives on development, Mein said that the priority of the double-engine government will be to speed up the all-round development process and vowed to continue working for the State with more vigour and dedication.
“The focus is to work as one by ensuring seamless integration,” he said.
The deputy chief minister said that one of the efforts of the state government was to ensure transparency and for this, the integrated chief minister’s dashboard was set up where all the development works were closely monitored by the chief minister’s office.
Referring to skill upgrade and education as priority areas, Mein said that the government will focus more attention on the development of these two areas.
Namchoom and Deori also spoke on the occasion.
Mein convened a meeting on Friday with the HoDs of Namsai district to know the status and discuss the ‘Transformation of Aspirational Districts Programme’.
