A man in Arunachal Pradesh’s Tirap district has been sentenced to a 20-year imprisonment for sexually assaulting a minor girl.
The sentence was pronounced by a special court in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh.
The man, identified as Anil Chakma, has been convicted by the Court under section 6 of the POCSO Act.
Chakma, in July last year, had sexually assaulted a 9-year-old girl, when she was at a shop to buy biscuits.
The convict, who was in an intoxicated state, had dragged the minor girl to a nearby bamboo groove and forced himself on her.
