The East Siang district administration in Arunachal Pradesh has denied the reported discrepancy of the Aarogya Setu app showing a Covid-19 positive case in the district.
A statement issued by East Siang deputy commissioner Kinny Singh on Thursday, said there is no Covid-19 positive case in the district till date and there was no reason to panic.
“Following the contact tracing by the district administration on the matter, it was found that a Corona positive patient from Mumbai had shared a one time password (OTP) to a friend of his in East Siang to help him login into the former’s Arogya Setu account. This in turn caused all the confusion,” DC Singh said.
To avoid such issues and confusions in future, the DC has urged the people not to share the login OTP for the Arogya app.
Aarogya Setu is designed to keep track of other app users that a person came in contact with.
It then alerts app users if any of the contacts tests positive for Covid-19 by using the phone’s Bluetooth and GPS capabilities.
Meanwhile, thanking the frontline workers, Covid warriors and people of the district for their cooperation and support in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, the DC has appealed all to continue following the social distancing norms and wear masks at all times while stepping out from their homes.
