Accusing the state government for its alleged failure in tackling the law and order situation of the state, former Aeunachal Pradesh Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Nabam Tuki said that there has been a “total mismanagement” by the state government in handling protests.
A recent move by the state government to grant Permanent Resident Certificates (PRC) to six communities in the state has led to the present unrest.
“The loss of human lives and damages to properties of such magnitude which the state has never witnessed in its history,” the memorandum said.Memo to Rajnath
The memorandum was signed by Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee President Takam Sanjoy, former chief minister Nabam Tuki and Congress general secretary (in-charge of Northeast) Luizinho Faleiro.
The Congress party also demanded setting up of a Commission of Enquiry. “The enquiry commission should be headed by a sitting high court judge or a retired chief justice of high court, on firing and killing of innocent and unarmed protestors,” said Tuki.
The Congress leaders have also sought immediate sacking of Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein. They have also demanded sacking of Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju, who hails from Arunachal Pradesh.
