Arunachal Pradesh BJP president Biyuram Waghe has tested positive for COVID19.
Waghe, who represents the Pakke Kesang Assembly constituency of the state, took to social media on Wednesday to make public the information and said he has been following all instructions as advised by the doctors since.

“On getting initial symptoms of COVID, I took the Rapid Antigen Test today for the safety and security of my family, friends and society as a whole, and I have tested positive for Covid-19 Wage said while adding that he is following all the necessary instruction advised by doctors,” Waghe said.
The state BJP president also requested his associates who came in his contact recently to get themselves tested for the virus.
“I request everyone who has been in close proximity to me in the past few days, to isolate themselves and get tested,” he said.

Waghe is the 5th legislator from Arunachal Pradesh to test positive for COVID19 as state BJP general secretary and Namsai MLA Zingnu Namchoom had tested positive for the virus on Tuesday.
Following Namchoom’s announcement of being COVID19 positive, the BJP has closed the state party office till September 16 for sanitisation.
Besides Waghe and Namchoom, the other MLAs who have tested COVID19 positive are education minister and Yachuli MLA Taba Tedir, Lekang MLA Jummon Ete Deori and Kalaktang MLA Dorjee Wangdi Kharma.
Meanwhile, several other legislators of the state including their security officers, drivers and staff underwent COVID19 tests at the State Legislative Assembly complex here on Wednesday.
The testing kiosks were set up at the assembly premises under the directions of speaker Pasang D Sona, a press communiqué from the speaker’s office said.
In all 136 people including the legislators underwent the test on the day after which 7 people (drivers and staff) were unfortunately found to be COVID19 positive.
Those individuals have been shifted to the Covid Care Centre, the communiqué added.
